Maternity Xchange Presents a Local Community Event for New and Expecting Parents:
The San Francisco Birth and Baby Fair
San
Francisco, CA -- April 11, 2008 – Maternity Xchange, in partnership
with Natural Resources, hosts the San Francisco Birth and Baby Fair,
sponsored by Lori Paladino Photography and GetzWell Pediatrics. On
Saturday, May 24th from 10am until 3pm at Fort Mason Conference Center,
new and expecting Bay Area parents can attend free workshops and meet
representatives from over 45 locally based companies and organizations
covering everything from prenatal education and family finances to new
parent support and holistic care. Admissions is $5, children 18 and
under are free. Complimentary passes are available from most sponsors and
exhibitors while supplies last.
Attendees
can find out what a doula is, learn how to
"wear" their baby, or find photographers to capture the unique
experience of pregnancy. Workshops and demonstrations include Early
Pregnancy 101, Birthing Options and Alternatives, Cloth Diapering, Pre
& Post Natal Exercise and more. Parents also have the opportunity
to discover local boutiques and designers and purchase baby clothing,
accessories and discounted, brand name maternity apparel. There will be
a free raffle with prizes donated by participating businesses and gift
bags will be distributed to the first 250 families to arrive.
"We
truly believe in the benefits of a localized supportive environment for
parents so you’ll find no glitzy baby races sponsored by multi-national
corporations here." says Maternity Xchange co-owner, Bobbi Williams.
"The San Francisco Birth and Baby Fair gathers members of the local
birth and early parenting community and give families the chance to
discover and support the businesses and resources in their own
backyard."
"The
SF Birth & Baby Fair should be one of the first stops for the
expecting or new parent," according to Cara Vidano, owner of Natural
Resources, a pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting center in San
Francisco. "Pregnancy takes you into a whole new world that can be
overwhelming due to the multitude of options during ones pregnancy,
birth & early parenting days. This event will answer questions you
didn't even know you had."

Maternity
Xchange is a mobile maternity clothing boutique established in 2004.
The company's aim is to make stylish, brand-name maternity clothing
accessible to expectant moms throughout the bay area. They provide an
avenue for women with high quality maternity clothing to sell their
items and in turn offer affordable, mid to high-end apparel to
expecting moms unwilling to sacrifice their sense of style to their
impending motherhood. Maternity Xchange also works with wholesalers and
designers to help clear overstock and sample merchandise. They offer
this discounted maternity apparel to moms at their monthly Bay Area
sale events. Maternity Xchange aims to be "The Fashionista's Place to
Buy and Sell Maternity Clothing... Because You're Losing Your Waist,
Not Your Taste!"
